Development History of R290 Refrigerant Gas
The advantage of R290 is that it can be directly extracted from liquefied gas, which has a lower cost than synthetic refrigerants, and the GWP value and ODP value are close to zero. The German R290 is relatively mature and has been used in domestic water heaters and air-conditioning systems.
At the 64th Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Multilateral Fund on July 29, 2011, China formally signed an agreement that China will receive a $75 million renovation fund for household air-conditioning to help China build 18 R290 household air-conditioning production lines and 4 There are R290 air-conditioning compressor production lines and 14 R410A air-conditioning production lines. At present, many institutions in China have recognized that R290 is the only refrigerant that complies with the Kigali Amendment. Some industry companies also stated that R290 refrigerant is the most environmentally friendly and energy-saving product in the refrigeration bubble, and the carbon dioxide equivalent is basically zero.
Refrigerant R290a, flammable and explosive, is a natural hydrocarbon refrigerant that can be obtained directly from liquefied petroleum gas. Compared with Freon, a synthetic refrigerant, the natural working fluid R290 does not contain chlorine atoms in its molecules, so the ozone depleting potential (ODP value) is 0, which does not have a destructive effect on the ozone layer.
In addition, compared with HFC substances that also have no destructive effect on the ozone layer, the global warming potential (GWP value) of R290 is close to 0, which has no effect on the greenhouse effect.
